Product Manager, Solvents

To initiate and maintain strategic and cost-effective business relationships with their respective product portfolio suppliers to maximize sales and margin performance groups.

Key Accountabilities will include:

  • Ensures safety is the first priority and that all activities are conducted in accordance with quality, health, safety and environmental management systems as well as corporate and local policies.

  • Performs the role in a manner that is reflective of our clients Core Values,, within regulatory requirements and company policies, programs and expectations

  • Manages an assigned industry specific product portfolio on a national basis;

  • Develops and maintains effective and strategic relationships with key suppliers in conjunction with the Director, National Supply;

  • Sources new suppliers and products, including negotiation of product parameters such as landed pricing and contracts;

  • Participates with sales management in the setting of corporate sales objectives and provides prices and margin targets for assigned product lines in order to exceed margin quality targets;

  • Shares market intelligence through the Commercial Sales Groups;

  • Contributes and participates in the creation of strategic market plans and programs;

  • Provides technical field support to the sales organization and/or other members of the marketing team as required;

  • Ensures that business plans are implemented in a timely and effective manner.

  • Manages inventory of assigned products in close conjunction with the Inventory Manager and Inventory Analysts to achieve overall target for inventory turns as well as individual target for dead and extremely slow moving stock;

  • Provides direction to Product Coordinators with regard to buying initiatives and accurate PIR (Product Information Records).

  • Qualifications include the following:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing and/or Science

  • Prior work experience, preferably in a sales or marketing role (5+ years)

  • Superior presentation, communication and negotiation skills

  • Exceptional analytical skills
